Members are reminded they must declare all relevant  pecuniary and other registerable interests arising from any business to be discussed at this meeting.

If a disclosable pecuniary interest is declared a Member must not participate in any discussion or vote on the matter and must not remain in the room unless they have been granted a dispensation.

If other registerable interests are declared a Member may speak on the matter only if members of the public are allowed to speak at the meeting but otherwise must not take part in any discussion or vote on the matter and must not remain in the room unless they have been granted a dispensation.    

If it is a ‘sensitive interest’, Members do not have to disclose the nature of the interest, just that they have an interest.

To note the Committee’s Terms of Reference (Part B18) and Employment Procedure Rules (Part C7), following amendments to the Constitution agreed by Full Council on 21 May 2024.

1. To note that at its meeting on 21 May 2024 Full Council appointed the following members to serve on the Committee for the period ending with the Annual Meeting of the City Council in 2025 - Labour (4) – Cllrs John Cotton (Chair); Nicky Brennan; Rob Pocock; Sharon Thompson; Conservatives (2) - Cllrs Robert Alden; Ewan Mackey; Lib Dems (1) – Cllr Roger Harmer. 

    

2. To appoint a Deputy Chair, for the purpose of substitution for the Chair if absent, for the period ending with the Annual Meeting of the City Council in 2025.

Recommended that members of the press and public be excluded from the meeting for agenda items 9 and 10 under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 on the grounds that: (i)  it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act; and (ii)  the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

To approve the private minutes of the meeting of the Council Business Management (Chief Officer and Deputy Chief Officer Appointments, Dismissals and Service Conditions Sub Committee – JNC Core Panel) held on 15 April 2024.
