To seek approval from Cabinet to publicly consult on the Draft Sexual Health Strategy for the Provision of Sexual Health Treatment and Prevention Services in Birmingham for period 2023 – 2028.
This consultation will inform the development of the Sexual Health Strategy in relation to the provision of Sexual Health Treatment and Prevention Services. Local authorities are mandated to “commission comprehensive open access sexual health services, including free STI testing and treatment, notification of sexual partners of infected persons and advice on, and reasonable access to, a broad range of contraception; and advice on preventing unplanned pregnancy”
A wide ranging public consultation is planned to ensure a breadth of views are considered in the development of the Strategy.
