The Labour manifesto pledged to explore creating a municipal water company, and to assess the options available to the local authority.
With the recent changes to the water market, which came in to effect on 1 April 2017, organisations can now choose;
• Which company they want to supply their retail water services in regard to supplying water to drink/waste water services.
• To become a self –supply Licensee Company.
- To become a Water and Waste Water Retailer
- To do nothing
An analysis of the above will be investigated to determine which option the City Council should progress.
