The Council and Birmingham Museum Trust are seeking approval to submit a grant application for Museum Estate and Development (MEND) Round 4 funding. The application must be submitted by the deadline of the 15th August 2024 to the Department of Digital, Culture Media and Sport (DCMS).
The Council will match fund the bid of 10% of the total bid from the Museums Capital Programme.
The funding will address making the grade 1 Jacobean hall weather proof by repairing the external structure also addressing electrical and mechanical issues with the building together with security improvements to the stable block and lodges
Approval is also requested to delegate (if successful) acceptance of the grant award to the Assistant Director of Neighbourhoods
