Decision Outcome

On 19 May 2025, Cabinet Committee – Property:-

(i)             Authorised the Assistant Director Corporate Landlord to conclude an unconditional sale of the surplus Council owned property, by the grant of a new 250-year lease to “the Purchaser” as detailed in Exempt Appendices 2 and 3 to the report;

(ii)            Noted that the purchaser will also pay a contribution towards the Council’s surveyor and legal costs, as detailed in exempt appendix 2;

(iii)          Agreed that in the event the transaction does not progress to completion to authorised the Assistant Director Corporate Landlord in consultation with the Deputy Leader to revert to the market, select a preferred bidder agree terms price and disposal subject to a supporting recommendation report from the Councils appointed agent;

(iv)          Cabinet Committee -Property endorsed the terms of the disposal of the Brasshouse; and

(v)           Authorised the City Solicitor to prepare, negotiate, execute and complete all relevant legal documentation to give effect to the above.
