Decision Details

On the 29 August 2025 the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families:-

• 1Approved the project costs for the expansion works at Ark Victoria Academy at a total project cost of up to £343,120.The project will be funded from the DfE Basic Need Allocation Grant, no General Fund will be used;

   

• 2Approved the Full Business Case appended to this report;

   

• 3Approved the award of a grant to fund the capital works via a Condition of Grant Aid (COGA), which will be put in place between the Council and Ark Schools Academy Trust. This will outline responsibility for delivering the scheme within the agreed budget and timescale. The Council will only fund the amount that has been agreed. Payment will be made upon evidence of works being completed;

   

• 4Approved the grant up to the sum of £343,120 for the extension works at Ark Victoria Academy, part of Ark Schools Academy Trust enabling the school to permanently expand from 168 in secondary to 180 pupils per year group; and

   

• 5Authorised the Director of Law and Governance (Monitoring Officer) to execute and complete all necessary legal documents to give effect to the above recommendation.
