Decision Outcome

On 19 January 2026, Cabinet Committee – Property:-

(i)         Approved the proposed surrender of Birmingham Children’s Trust’s existing lease for the Kingsmere site;

 

(ii)        Approved the granting of a new lease to Birmingham Children’s Trust on terms as set out in Exempt Appendices B and C to enable the construction and operation of the West Midlands Safe Centre;

 

(iii)       Delegated authority to the Executive Director of Place Prosperity and Sustainability to finalise the terms of the new lease;

 

(iv)       Authorised the City Solicitor and Monitoring Officer to negotiate, execute and complete all legal documents necessary to give effect to the above recommendations.
