On 19 January 2026, Cabinet
Committee – Property:-
(i) Authorised the Director of Property
& Regeneration to accept the bid and conclude terms with the preferred
purchaser recommended in Exempt Appendix 2 to the report for a freehold sale of
the Council owned asset, the former Sundridge Children’s Centre, 801 Queslett
Road, Oscott, Birmingham B44 9NY (“the Property”). The property is shown edged
bold black on the attached site plan at Appendix 1 to the report and extends to
0.27 acres. See detailed information in Exempt Appendix 2, 3, 4 and 5 to the
report;
(ii) Noted that the purchaser will pay the
Council’s surveyor and legal costs, as detailed in Exempt Appendix 4 to the
report;
(iii) Authorised the Director of Property &
Regeneration to revert to the under bidders in the event of a failure to
complete the transaction within the prescribed timeline and conclude a sale to
an underbidder on the best available terms subject to the Council’s duties
under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972;
(iv) Authorised the City Solicitor and
Monitoring Officer to prepare, negotiate, execute, and complete all relevant
legal documentation to give effect to the above.
