On 18 August 2025, Cabinet Committee – Property:-
(i) Noted the Pre Decision Scrutiny undertaken by the Economy, Skills and Culture Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 16 July 2025, and considers its recommendation proposing the Council explores adding an overage provision to this sale;
(ii) Authorised the Assistant Director of Corporate Landlord to conclude the sale of the Council owned freehold property at 1459 Pershore Road, Stirchley, Birmingham (“the Property”) as shown edged bold black on the attached Appendix A to the report, and extending to 0.12 hectares (0.30 acres), to the purchaser as detailed in Exempt Appendix B to the report;
(iii) Noted that the purchaser will pay a contribution towards the Council’s surveyor and legal costs, as detailed in Exempt Appendix B to the report;
(iv) Authorised the Assistant Director of Corporate Landlord to revert to alternative bidders in the event of a failure to complete the transaction within the prescribed timeline and conclude a sale to an underbidder on the best available terms subject to the Council’s duties under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972;
(v) Authorised the City Solicitor to prepare, negotiate, execute, and complete all relevant legal documentation to give effect to the above.
