Purpose

To seek approval to:

  • ·       an extension to the delivery period for this project from July 2025 to December 2026; and
  • ·       an increase in EZ funding of £228,013 from £452, 637 to £652,169 to support this extended delivery period.
There is a significant increase in match funding of £507,561 to support the extension and an increase in the outputs and outcomes which have also resulted in a greater Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) of 5.64 (from 3.64)

On 18 March 2025 Cabinet:-

(i)         Noted the request from Birmingham City University to extend the delivery period for the Business, Professional and Financial Services cluster project. Pilot from 31 July 2025 to 31 December 2026, approved by the Enterprise Zone Partnership Board on 30 October 2024;

(ii)       In its capacity as Accountable Body for the Enterprise Zone (EZ), approved the award of a further £228,013 Enterprise Zone revenue funding to fund the provision of grant to Birmingham City University to facilitate the extension of the delivery period of the Business, Professional and Financial Services cluster project; and

(iii)      Authorised the Interim City Solicitor & Monitoring Officer to negotiate, execute, seal and complete all necessary documents in connection with the above decisions.
