Purpose
1.2. To seek approval to the Full Business Case (FBC) and to make a capital grant payment of £541,737 to St Thomas More Catholic Primary School for the capital scheme to provide 105 additional pupil places which will enable the school to grow to a 2 form entry (FE) primary school. The total capital cost will be £694,730 which includes £76,970 for professional and statutory fees and £17,993 for EdSI professional fees. £135,000 will be funded from the Education Funding Agency’s Locally Co-ordinated Voluntary Aided Programme (LCVAP).

Decision Outcome
On 14 December 2016, the Cabinet Members for Children, Families & Schools and Value for Money and Efficiency, jointly with the Strategic Director for People: a) Approved the Full Business Case (Appendix A to the report) for the capital works at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School at a total capital cost of £694,730 including fees, loose classroom furniture and ICT; b) Authorised the Executive Director for Education to make a capital grant payment of £541,737 to St Thomas More Catholic Primary School to progress the construction works on site including ICT and loose furniture; c) Authorised the City Solicitor to negotiate, execute and complete all necessary documents to give effect to the above decisions.
