On 23 February 2026 Cabinet Committee – Property:-
(i) Noted the key points raised in Pre Decision Scrutiny by the Economy, Skills and Culture Overview and Scrutiny Committee;
(ii) Authorised the Director of Property & Regeneration to conclude the sale of the Council owned freehold property at the former Fairway Day Centre, Kings Norton (“the Property”) as shown edged bold black on the attached Appendix A to the report, and extending to 0.356 hectares (0.88 acres), to the purchaser as detailed in Exempt Appendix B to the report with an anti-embarrassment provision to be applied;
(iii) Noted that the purchaser will pay a contribution towards the Council’s legal costs, as detailed in Exempt Appendix B to the report;
(iv) Authorised the Director of Property & Regeneration to revert to the under bidders in the event of a failure to complete the transaction within the prescribed timeline and conclude a sale to an underbidder on the best available terms subject to the Council’s duties under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972;
(v) Authorised the City Solicitor (Monitoring Officer) to prepare, negotiate, execute, and complete all relevant legal documentation to give effect to the above.
