Decision Outcome

On 21 January 2025 Cabinet:-

 

  1. Approved the project costs for the extension works at St Edmund Campion School part of St John Paul II Multi Academy, at a total project cost, which will not exceed £4,025,612;

     

  2. Approved the Full Business Case appended to the report;

     

  3. Approved the award of a grant to fund the main capital works via a Condition of Grant Aid (COGA), which will be put in place between the Council and St John Paul II Multi Academy Trust. This will outline responsibility for delivering the scheme within the agreed budget and timescale. The Council will only fund the amount that has been agreed. Payment will be made upon evidence of works being completed;

     

  4. Approved the grant up to the sum of £4,025,612 for the extension works at St Edmund Campion School, part of St John Paul II Multi Academy, enabling the school to permanently expand from 186 to 216 pupils per year group;

     

  5. Noted that St Edmund Campion School is waiting for approval from the Department for Education’s Regions Group to expand its pupil numbers, and that the issue of grant will be subject to approval by the Region’s Group; and

     

  6. Authorised the Interim City Solicitor & Monitoring Officer to complete all necessary documents to give effect to the above decisions.
