Decision Outcome

On the 13 November 2025 the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People & Families:

  1. Approved the project cost for the flat roof replacement at George Dixon Primary School for the value of £264,983; 

  2. Approved the award of a grant to fund the capital works via a Condition of Grant Aid (COGA), between the Council and the school. The COGA will outline responsibility for delivering the scheme within the agreed budget, scope and timescale. The Council will only fund the amount that has been agreed. Payment will be made upon evidence of works being completed. Work is planned between January 2026 and March 2026;

  3.  Noted that George Dixon Primary School is currently proposing to convert to Academy status on or after 1st January 2026 and that George Dixon Primary School will be a Sponsored Academy under The Prince Albert Community Trust; and

  4. Authorised the Director of Law and Governance and Monitoring Officer to complete all necessary documents to give effect to the above recommendations.
