On 19
January 2026, Cabinet Committee – Property:-
(i) Noted the
key points raised in Pre Decision Scrutiny by the Economy, Skills and Culture
Overview and Scrutiny Committee;
(ii) Authorised
the Director of Property and Regeneration to conclude the sale of the Council
owned freehold property at 67 Sutton New Road, Erdington, Birmingham (“the
Property”) as shown edged bold black on the attached Appendix A, and extending
to 0.299 hectares (0.739 acres), to the purchaser as detailed in Exempt
Appendix B to the report;
(iii) Noted that
the purchaser will pay a contribution towards the Council’s surveyor and legal
costs, as detailed in Exempt Appendix B to the report;
(iv) Authorised
the Director of Property and Regeneration to revert to alternative bidders in
the event of a failure to complete the transaction within the prescribed
timeline and conclude a sale to an underbidder on the best available terms
subject to the Council’s duties under Section 123 of the Local Government Act
1972;
(v) Authorised
the City Solicitor (Monitoring Officer) to prepare, negotiate, execute, and
complete all relevant legal documentation to give effect to the above.
