On the 4 November 2024 the Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care:-
1. Retrospectively approved the submission of the application for grant funding to
the Shared Prosperity Fund, to improve the energy efficiency of public facilities,
reducing ongoing running costs, maintenance and break downs, and to support
Birmingham City Council’s objective to become ‘net-zero’ by 2030;
2. Approved spend of the grant awards, £250,000 via Phase II of Sport England’s
Swimming Pool Support Fund, and £88,643 via Shared Prosperity Fund, totalling
a maximum of £338.643 on replacement gas boilers at Handsworth Wellbeing
Centre, and in line with the award conditions of both grants; and
3. Authorised the the City Solicitor and Monitoring Officer (or their delegate) to complete all necessary documents to give effect to the above
recommendations.
