Decision Outcome
On 14 February 2023, Cabinet:-
(i) Noted the content of the report and the
approval of the Portfolio Holder to the request of the MAC to use the majority
of endowment fund to exit an historic pension scheme;
(ii) Noted that a letter to the Trustees of
the MAC will request confirmation and process by which the anticipated
financial benefit to the MAC from the pension buy-out will, together with the
remaining endowment fund, contribute to financial sustainability of the centre
and Trust;
(iii) Noted that through this arrangement and
the benefit of car park income share, the Council continues to support and
endorse the work of MAC in adding to the cultural contribution for the city;
(iv) Authorised the City Solicitor to
negotiate, execute and complete all necessary documentation to give effect to
the above recommendations.
