On 23 September 2025, Cabinet Committee – Property:-
(i) Authorised the Assistant Director for Corporate Landlord to conclude a lease for development purposes, and partial unconditional freehold sale, as appropriate, of the surplus Council owned property, as detailed in bold in Site Plans in Appendix 1, to the report, to the proposed purchaser identified in Exempt Appendices 1a, 2, 3 and 4, to the report, relating to:-
Land identified for development on the site of the former Tower Ballroom for a premium on Council owned assets at The Former Tower Ballroom site, The Lodge Building and additional land at Reservoir Rd, Birmingham B16 2EE (“the Property”);
(ii) Authorised the Assistant Director for Corporate Landlord to revert to the under bidders in the event of any failure to complete and conclude a sale of the development site to any underbidder on the best available terms subject to the Council’s duties under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972;
(iii) Authorised the City Solicitor to revise, negotiate, execute and complete all relevant legal documentation to give effect to the above decisions.
