Purpose

    1. Local authorities are required, by the Health and Safety Executive’s National Local Authority Enforcement Code (May 2013), to produce an annual Health and Safety Law Enforcement Plan (HSLEP). 

    2. This requirement is part of section 18(4) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HASWA), and requires all enforcing authorities to comply with requirements in the Code.

    3. This document which is Birmingham’s HSLEP sets out the Health and Safety work programme for 2019 - 2020.
