Purpose

To seek the determination of the statutory proposal to:

Alter the age range of Al-Hijrah School from 4 – 16 years to become 4 – 11 years.

This proposal will result in the school becoming a mixed (coeducational) Islamic primary school for girls and boys aged 4 – 11years. The school would no longer have a secondary phase.

On Friday 1 February 2019, the Cabinet Member for Education Skills and Culture jointly with the Director for Education and Skills approved, having taken account of the statutory guidance, the statutory proposal to alter the age range of Al-Hijrah School from 4 - 16 to become 4 - 11 years with effect from 1 September 2019.
