Purpose
The buildings on Ashted Lock and Holt Court were constructed in 1987 and 1993 respectively. As such they are coming to the end of their economic life without substantial development. The best way to secure the redevelopment required is to sell the asset to a development specialist.

Decision Outcome

On 27 April 2026 Cabinet Committee – Property:-

(i)       Declared (i) Ashted Lock, Dartmouth Middleway, B7 4AP and (ii) Holt Court, Woodcock Street, B7 4EJ surplus to requirements;

(ii)       Approved the freehold disposals as detailed in Exempt Appendix 2 to the report;

(iii)      Authorised the Executive Director of Place, Prosperity and Sustainability in conjunction with the Director of Property & Regeneration and the Director of Finance, to agree the final terms of the agreements; and

(iv)      Authorised the City Solicitor and Monitoring Officer to prepare, negotiate, execute and complete all relevant legal documentation required to give effect to the above.
