To seek approval for the project costs and award of the contract for the boiler replacement works at Lindsworth School. The project costs for the scheme will not exceed £518,584.

The project will be funded from the Local Authority’s School Condition Allocation Grant. There is no cost to the general fund because of this project.

On the 30 April 2025, the Cabinet Member for Children Young People and Families;

(i) Approved the project costs for the boiler replacement works at Lindsworth School, at a cost of up to £518,584. This is inclusive of £21,792 Acivico professional fees and £15,104 Education Infrastructure capitalisation fees. 

(ii) Approved the Full Business Case appended to this report. 

(iii) Approved the award of a contract for the boiler replacement works at Lindsworth School, to Dodd Group Limited for the estimated value of £481,688 (this is inclusive of £60,000 contingency) for a construction period of 16 weeks commencing in May 2025. 

(iv) Noted that the Boiler Replacement project at Lindsworth School was on a Planned Programme Activities Report (PPAR) approved by Cabinet on 21st January 2025; and

(v) Authorised the Interim City Solicitor and Monitoring Officer to execute and complete all necessary legal documents to give effect to the above recommendation.
