In 2018, BCC and the Recognised Trade Unions agreed to review the seven grade pay structure within BCC, viewed as being an inequitable structure; It is expected that implementing a robust pay structure will mitigate equal pay risk and also ensure that there is a more appropriately targeted salary in line with market rates, reducing reliance on contingent labour.
