To seek approval for a combination of Youth Employment actions i.e.
Approval to commence a Kickstart job placements programme to include BCC being a Kickstart employer and being a Kickstart Gateway to enable SME placements.
Approval to bid for up to £4.01M extension in EU grant funding from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to continue to act as accountable body for the Birmingham and Solihull Youth Promise Plus project for a further 2 years, providing employment, education and training outcomes for NEET young people aged 16 – 29.
Approval to bid, on behalf of the Council and Birmingham Children’s Trust, to the Youth Futures Foundation for up to £6m over 5 years for the ‘Freshstart’ project to enable 14 - 18 year olds supported by the Trust, who are NEET or at risk of NEET, with employment focussed education and training pathways, and part-time waged placements.
